This happened with my old biology teacher when I was in high school. Overall the science curriculums where I live are pretty good, but there is one minor part (~1 lesson) in the evolution syllabus where students have to learn about and discuss alternate explanations for the origin of life (which lets be honest is primarily referring to abrahamic creationism).
